Bob the Drag Queen, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 8 and a prominent figure in the drag world, has ventured into the fashion industry with the introduction of House of Bob. This conscious clothing brand, based in Los Angeles, emphasizes inclusivity and ethical production. The limited collection challenges traditional gender norms, offering gender-neutral designs and styles, all meticulously handmade.
The debut House of Bob collection showcases approximately ten garments, with a spotlight on the versatile ‘sax.’ Available in various materials and colors, including black and white, blue denim, cotton flannel, and rayon, the ‘sax’ is priced at $175, providing a comfortable and fashionable option for all.
Bob the Drag Queen expressed the brand’s mission, stating, “I started House of Bob to address the lack of inclusive fashion options that cater to individuals outside the traditional gender binary. By offering gender-neutral designs and styles, we aim to challenge societal norms and contribute to a more inclusive and accepting fashion industry.”
Building on the success of Bomo Beauty, a cosmetics company launched earlier this year in collaboration with drag sister Monet X Change, House of Bob plans to release two drops of new garments each season. The brand is committed to thoughtfulness, relevance, and quality in each piece, reflecting Bob the Drag Queen’s dedication to breaking barriers in the drag world.
Beyond the drag scene, Bob the Drag Queen has earned recognition with prestigious awards, including a Peabody Award, GLAAD Media Award, and Television Academy Honors for work on HBO’s We’re Here. The artist has also ventured into music with the debut EP Gay Barz, hosts the popular podcast Sibling Rivalry with Monét X Change, and serves as the special guest MC for Madonna’s ‘The Celebration Tour.
