Embarking on a groundbreaking journey, French fashion icon Ba&sh partners with the Nativa Regenerative Agriculture Program, thrusting regenerative agriculture into the limelight. The brand commits to funding transformative projects in Uruguayan farms, fostering regenerative practices and seamlessly incorporating regenerative wool into its collections.
This strategic alliance underscores Ba&sh’s visionary role in reshaping the knitted garment sector, echoing global initiatives for biodiversity preservation and reduced carbon footprints in the fashion industry.
Pierre-Arnaud Grenade, Ba&sh’s CEO, envisions a dynamic shift, stating, «Our collaboration with the Nativa Regenerative Agriculture Program aims to redefine the fashion-agriculture dynamic, pushing boundaries for a more sustainable future. Our holistic approach embraces regenerative agriculture as a catalyst for positive change in fashion.»
Ba&sh’s financial injection has already impacted three farms, covering around 8,000 hectares in regeneration. Setting an ambitious target, the brand aims for 30% regenerative or transitioning wool in its collections by the close of 2025.
Recognizing the importance of synchronizing creativity with the farming calendar, Ba&sh plans to introduce regenerative wool in its 2024 winter collections, aligning with the sheep-shearing cycle.
Material-sourcing achievements showcase Ba&sh’s commitment. Winter 2022 saw 32% certified wool, surging to an impressive 98% in 2023. Notably, 80% of standard knitted garments in winter 2023 consist of at least 70% certified fibers, exceeding the 40% recycled fiber threshold.
On the trajectory to 100% certified materials by 2025, Ba&sh envisions a wool composition featuring 30% RWS wool, 30% recycled wool, 30% regenerative or transitioning wool, and 10% French wool.
Witness the fusion of fashion and sustainability as Ba&sh pioneers regenerative agriculture, spearheading a conscious and eco-friendly future.
