Following a proposal submitted by garment factory owners, the Minimum Wage Board has revised the minimum wage upwards to Tk 12,500 from the previous Tk 10,400.
This crucial decision, effective from December 1, comes after extensive negotiations, during which workers advocated for a minimum monthly wage of Tk 23,000, a significant increase from the current Tk 8,000.
