Authentic Brands Group has forged a strategic partnership with Warson Brands for an occupational footwear licensing agreement covering the DC Shoes and Roxy brands. In this collaboration, Warson will design, develop, and distribute occupational footwear for both men and women under the DC Shoes brand, along with women’s styles for the Roxy brand. The agreement encompasses regions such as the U.S., Canada, and Europe, including the UK.
David Brooks, EVP of Action and Outdoor Sports, Lifestyle at Authentic Brands Group, expressed satisfaction in expanding the partnership with Warson Brands, citing the latter’s leadership in the occupational footwear sector and expertise in innovation. The aim is to bring the DC Shoes and Roxy brands into the flourishing occupational footwear category, leveraging Authentic’s successful brand development track record.
While maintaining the distinctive design aesthetics of DC Shoes and Roxy, Warson will incorporate specifications to meet safety standards for occupational footwear in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Features include protective steel or composite toe caps, electro-static dissipating properties for high-tech industries, slip-resisting outsoles, and soft toe options for select styles catering to hospitality and service occupations.
Jim Maritz, President and CEO of Warson Brands, expressed enthusiasm for expanding the partnership with Authentic Brands Group. The collaboration is set to introduce two prominent surf and skate-inspired lifestyle brands to the occupational footwear market in 2024. Maritz sees an opportunity to address the evolving needs of working women, especially with the Roxy brand.
The upcoming DC Shoes and Roxy work footwear collections, anticipated to retail between $90 and $125, will be available at select workwear and specialty accounts in spring 2024.
