This AI tool is engineered to transform product images shot against neutral backgrounds, like a well-stocked clothing rack for fashion vendors or a beautifully furnished kitchen for household appliances, into striking advertising artwork. Accessible on Amazon Ads, the platform that empowers vendors to create targeted advertising campaigns, this AI-driven image generator is available at no extra cost. Colleen Aubrey, Senior Vice President of Amazon Ads Products and Technology, underscores the tool’s role in enhancing the visual appeal of ads, making them more engaging for Amazon’s customers.
This development underscores Amazon’s commitment to leveraging AI across its operations. Earlier this year, Amazon introduced a feature that allows customers to generate product reviews easily by selecting options on the product’s order feedback form, with AI generating the text. Additionally, Amazon has introduced a tool that automates the creation of product description texts.
While Amazon is actively innovating with AI, it has also undergone organizational changes. In March, the company announced 9,000 job cuts, building on a prior announcement of 18,000 job cuts made two months earlier. These decisions were attributed to «business uncertainty and lack of clarity about the near future.» Despite these changes, Amazon’s financial performance remains robust, with a 9% increase in revenue to €474 billion in 2022 and a surge in annual operating income from €12.2 billion to €24.9 billion.
