Rochas, the iconic fashion label, has appointed Alessandro Vigilante as the new creative director for its ready-to-wear collections. Following Charles de Vilmorin’s departure in April, Vigilante, an accomplished Italian designer, has been confirmed as the successor. His inaugural collection for Rochas is scheduled for the Fall/Winter 2024 season, slated to debut at Paris Fashion Week in February.
With a notable background in esteemed design studios like The Attico, Dolce & Gabbana, Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini, and Gucci, Vigilante brings a wealth of experience to his new role. A graduate of the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, he concurrently manages his eponymous brand, which made its debut at Milan Fashion Week in 2021.
Founded by Marcel Rochas in 1925, Rochas has been under the ownership of French fragrance specialist Interparfums since 2015. Interparfums oversees the perfume division and assumed direct control of the label’s fashion operations in 2021. The much-anticipated Fall/Winter 2024 collection marks Rochas’ return to the runway, with a comeback show scheduled for September 2024.
