Carmila announced this Tuesday the acquisition of the Rosaleda shopping center, located in Malaga, for 24.6 million euros, including royalties.
The 73-store center, adjacent to a Carrefour hypermarket, has a surface area of 15,500 square meters and includes two medium-sized stores, Decathlon and Lefties -the fashion brand of the Inditex Group-, Carmila reported in a press release.
It enjoys an important leadership position in its area of influence, as well as a leisure offer with a cinema complex, which attracts 5.8 million visitors a year, and its sale price offers «an important value creation potential for Carmila», according to this firm.
This transaction is part of the asset rotation program announced at the Capital Markets Day in December 2021 and follows the announcement of the signing of an agreement for the disposal of a portfolio of six assets located in France.
This allows Carmila «to put into practice its expertise in terms of renovation and revitalizing the retail mix in this type of assets,» the statement added.
Carmila’s portfolio in Spain was composed of 78 assets at the end of 2021, valued at €1.4 billion, including two shopping centers in Malaga, one of the country’s most dynamic cities and a global tourist reference.
Marie Cheval, president and CEO of Carmila, said that the company «takes a new step in its asset rotation strategy announced in December 2021» and, «following the agreement on the disposal of a portfolio of mature assets in France, purchases, on good terms, a high-potential shopping center in Malaga.»
