Vegan Fashion Week returned to the California Market Center in Downtown LA, celebrating its 5th milestone. Founded by Emmanuelle Rienda, this annual event has garnered significant attention, drawing celebrities like Jay Shetty, renowned podcaster, and actresses Tara Reid, Maggie Baird, and rising Hollywood star Caylee Cowan.
Named ‘The Golden Hour Fashion Show,’ this edition kicked off with a powerful speech by Netflix’s ‘Never Have I Ever’ actress, Richa Moorjani, a prominent advocate for ethical and vegan fashion. The runway came alive with Dutch designer Suzanne Harper’s sustainable and vegan footwear brand, A Perfect Jane, showcasing elegant western boots made from apple fiber, thoughtfully styled by Emmanuelle Rienda with vintage and upcycled elements.
Following this, French designer Guillaume Larquemain, available at Printemps Haussmann Paris and Stockholm, unveiled a collection of apple canvas bags and introduced a cutting-edge ready-to-wear vegan line, including a model with a bag featuring integrated speakers.
Guillaume Larquemain shared his vision: «Our brand, born in Normandy three years ago, focuses on apple canvas to bring luxury and exclusivity to vegan fashion. Our designs are gender-fluid, seasonless, and marked by minimalist, elegant, and humane craftsmanship using materials like apple fiber, bamboo, and linen.»
Los Angeles-based Nikky Green showcased the evolving luxury of vegan fashion. Founded by Dominique Side and stylist Christian Allen, the brand presented sharp-shouldered suits, elegant tops, blouses, red carpet-worthy evening dresses, and alluring nylon and polyester ensembles.
The 5th Vegan Fashion Week culminated with a spoken word performance by Emmy-nominated Mychal-Bella Bowman. Her words resonated with the event’s core message:
«Vegan Fashion Week transcends trends. It’s a beacon of transformation, guiding us towards a future where humanity and animals coexist compassionately. Our choices today shape the world we envision.»
Emmanuelle Rienda highlighted the event’s intimate and political focus, showcasing designers from the Netherlands, France, and Los Angeles to underscore its global reach. Celebrity presence emphasized the global momentum of the vegan fashion movement.
Vegan Fashion Week remains an independent, vital event and seeks continued support from sponsors and philanthropists, paving the way for a compassionate and sustainable fashion future.
