In a strategic move at Snipes, Sven Voth steps down as CEO of the Cologne-based sneaker and streetwear chain. The immediate successor is Dennis Schröder, who has been serving as the general manager since April 2023.
Dennis Schröder now takes the helm as the CEO, overseeing the overall activities of the international retailer.
Founder Sven Voth, a pivotal force behind Snipes for over 25 years, will stay on during a two-year transition period. His focus will include expansion, wholesale, product trends, innovations, cooperation, and the US business. Starting January 1, 2026, he will transition into an advisory role. Jim Bojko will continue to manage the US business as the President of Snipes USA.
«As founder and long-time CEO, Sven Voth has shaped Snipes for more than 25 years, positioning it uniquely in terms of strategy. In my new role, I look forward to continuing the story of this great company,» expressed Schröder, now chairing the executive directors’ committee.
In the past year, the retailer appointed three additional executive directors: Schröder, Peter Buse (COO), and Daniel Bontjer (CRO), along with Tim Spickenbom (CFO) and Sven Voth.
Voth, who founded the company in 1998 in Essen, had sold the majority shares in Snipes SE to the Deichmann Group in 2011. After acquiring the remaining shares, Voth transformed Snipes into a multi-billion dollar group with over 750 shops in 12 countries. «Snipes is my life’s work and will always be a part of me. I feel that the time has come to pass on the baton, and Dennis Schröder has already gained the recognition of all his colleagues within the company,» said the former CEO. «He brings a wealth of retail and brand experience, significantly enriching the company with his skills and ideas in a very short time.
