Robert Lee Named Chief Creative Officer at Rapha: Igniting Creativity in Cycling
Rapha, the esteemed cycling apparel brand, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Robert Lee as its Chief Creative Officer, effective immediately. With over two decades of experience in the athletic industry, Lee brings a wealth of expertise to this pivotal role.
Robert Lee’s journey in the world of sports and lifestyle began at Reebok before he joined Adidas in 2008. During his time at Adidas, he played a significant role in leading brand expression and product design for various business units, including training, athletics, sportswear, and basketball.
In his new capacity at Rapha, Lee will assume leadership of the product and brand creative teams. He will also play a crucial role in shaping the brand’s strategy and envisioning a dynamic future for Rapha and the sport of cycling as a whole.
Francois Convercey, CEO of Rapha, expressed his excitement about Lee’s arrival, stating, «We are truly excited to have Rob join us. Creativity and design have been central to the Rapha brand since its inception, and Rob will bring his passion for product, culture, and his own rider’s perspective to help us continue to inspire the world to live life by bike. We are ambitious about Rapha’s future, and Rob will undoubtedly guide our teams towards a new and very exciting chapter.»
Lee, an avid cyclist and endurance racer himself, is eager to apply his extensive experience working with athletes and leading product and brand expression for renowned brands to his new role at Rapha.
Rapha’s commitment to the cycling community remains unwavering, but the brand also continues to extend its reach through strategic collaborations. In July, Rapha partnered with Shrimps to create a female-focused capsule collection that effortlessly blends experimentation and wearability, offering high-performance yet casual pieces that bridge the gap between fashion and cycling.
In the spring, Rapha and renowned designer Paul Smith celebrated their long-standing friendship with a special clothing and accessories collection for both men and women. This exclusive riding collection celebrated the spirit of cycling and its ability to bring people together, featuring a range of riding accessories and distinctive RCC (Rapha Cycling Club) exclusive jerseys in club colors, as well as a black version adorned with Paul Smith’s signature stripes.
With Robert Lee as Chief Creative Officer, Rapha is poised to continue pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation in the world of cycling and beyond.
