In a significant move, the Prada Group has restructured its design studio following the departure of Fabio Zambardi, who previously oversaw design for both Prada and Miu Miu. This Italian fashion powerhouse has opted for an internal reshuffling, appointing Luigi Preziotti as the new design director for Prada, while confirming Dario Vitale in his existing role as design director for Miu Miu.
Zambardi’s four-decade legacy with the group made his departure notable. He received accolades at the recent Prada runway show on September 21, where he appeared alongside creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons. Responding to this transition, the Prada Group has introduced a revamped organizational structure with two design directors, each overseeing one of the group’s prestigious labels.
Luigi Preziotti, a veteran within the organization since 2002, has primarily focused on Prada’s women’s ready-to-wear collections and various special projects. He will report directly to Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, taking charge of design development, runway shows, and initiatives that shape the brand’s image and identity. Preziotti’s appointment marks an exciting new era for Prada’s design direction.
Meanwhile, Dario Vitale, with his extensive history at Miu Miu, continues in his role as design director. Vitale’s impeccable work and the impressive 21% growth in Miu Miu’s retail sales during the first half of the year underscore his industry standing. Under Vitale’s creative leadership, Miu Miu is set to unveil its highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2024 collection in Paris on October 3rd, promising further growth and innovation for the brand.
