Later, in 1985, she joined The New York Times, where she became the beauty and food editor of The New York Times Magazine.
Wells also ventured into the business side of beauty in 2017 when she became the chief creative officer of Revlon, launching the beauty brand Flesh in 2018. Her accomplishments extend to co-authoring the book «Confessions of a Beauty Editor» and being recognized as one of the most powerful fashion-magazine editors in the industry by Forbes in 2009.
