The John Lewis Partnership introduces the innovative «Made With Care» lifestyle label, seamlessly blending exceptional design and coveted products while providing a creative platform for individuals who have grown up in the care system.
This milestone follows John Lewis’s strong commitment to children in the care system, as evidenced by their heartwarming Christmas ad campaign last year.
«Made With Care» marks the beginning of an exciting, design-focused collaboration. The inaugural product is a tote bag designed by Michael Archibald, an 18-year-old aspiring artist from Glasgow. His artistic vision takes center stage on this stylish tote bag.
Michael’s journey commenced with his application to «Made With Care» through Who Cares? Scotland, the Partnership’s charity partner. Since then, he has collaborated closely with John Lewis’s in-house design team and creative partners at Saatchi & Saatchi to bring his design to life.
Archibald shared his experience, emphasizing the bag’s symbolism: «The stars on the bag represent the brilliance of Care Experienced individuals, while the surrounding clouds depict the love, care, and respect they deserve. The creative industries are highly competitive, and being given the opportunity to work with prominent companies empowers me to reach greater heights. I hope «Made With Care» offers more Care Experienced individuals a platform for creative expression and raising awareness.»

The long-term vision for «Made With Care» is to evolve it into a comprehensive product range.
For now, the inaugural tote bag is an eco-friendly wonder, crafted from 13 recycled bottles. You can find these eco-conscious tote bags in John Lewis and Waitrose stores starting from December 11. Profits from each £12 bag sold will be directed towards the Building Happier Futures fund.
