Adidas and Delta Galil Industries have teamed up to create full-range underwear collections for Adidas Originals and Badge of Sport. The goal is to «prioritize comfort» with collections for spring summer 2022 «designed to support all forms of movement and expression through the use of extra soft cotton and high-tech stretch fabrics that allow all bodies to realize their full potential.»
The launch slogan is «Comfort is our sport». For the spring summer 2022 season, men’s collections have been released in the APAC, EMEA, Europe and Latin America regions, and women’s collections have been launched in those same regions and in North America.
Clearly, comfort is key for consumers when it comes to sports, but as the athleisure trend continues and more sports products are used in everyday life, it is also a key factor in day-to-day life.
The two companies say they are «targeting that increased collective consciousness through intentional design and production.»
Offerings include thongs, bikinis, briefs and boxers, plus an assortment of bras, versatile, tops, tank tops, bodysuits and T-shirts. Sizes range from XS to 3XL, and prices range from 13 to 60 euros.
The line includes Adicolor Comfort Flex cotton that incorporates Delta Galil’s Realasting technology «to maintain the feel and shape of the fabrics after several washes.» Tencel is also used extensively and the garments offer 720° of stretch to «ensure an individualized flexible fit for each body.»
Meanwhile, Innoband technology «offers invisible coverage and an ergonomic fit» and Refibra cotton «offers premium natural fibers through recycled cotton.» Some products also use recycled and dye-free yarns, and Real Cool cotton is quick-drying and moisture-wicking.
«We are experiencing a significant shift in the way people value underwear and comfort, and both are being prioritized more than ever. Delta Galil has a long history of serving this market, and we are thrilled to introduce these versatile adidas collections to the world. Comfort in this category is key and the garments are designed to move with the wearer,» commented Victoria Vandagriff, president of Delta Galil’s D2 Brands.
