In an exciting union, Chivas, the beloved Scottish whisky brand, has partnered with renowned French jewelry artist Dolly Cohen to unveil a limited-edition release of the iconic Chivas XV Scotch blend. With a dedicated following among influential figures like A$AP Rocky, Madonna, and Beyoncé, Cohen has emerged as a prominent figure in the urban jewelry community over the past 15 years. Her exceptional work in crafting ‘grills’—ornate dental prosthetics made from gold, silver, precious gems, and metals—has propelled her from a modest upbringing in the outskirts of Paris to a prominent position in the global ‘wearable art’ scene. Her remarkable achievements include winning the ANDAM Fashion Award in 2022, solidifying her place in high fashion circles.
This exclusive collaboration pays homage to the Chivas Regal XV blend by introducing a unique «masterpiece»: a custom gold case meticulously imagined and handcrafted by Dolly Cohen. Reflecting the essence of her eponymous dental jewelry brand, this sculptural design intertwines delicacy and modernity, using the same techniques she employs for her famous grills. The design wraps around the enclosed bottle with the same precision and attention to detail as her iconic dental creations, culminating in a unique and visually striking piece. Key elements of this design include its familiar shape, enlarged with an organic touch, captivating color, brilliance, and the artist’s signature—meticulously handcrafted for each creation.
This exceptional case, requiring 38 hours of meticulous craftsmanship, will be unveiled and exclusively available for purchase at a Parisian pop-up store set to launch in December this year. With its intricacy and exceptional artisanal work, this collector’s item is destined to be a coveted possession for whisky connoisseurs.
Simultaneously, at the pop-up location, 300 gold-plated cases inspired by the original collaboration model will be available for purchase along with a Chivas XV bottle for a cost of 150 euros.
At the Pernod Ricard Group’s Parisian headquarters, the 38-year-old former dental technician turned jewelry designer shares the creative journey behind this unique collaboration.
«I conceptualized each case in the same way I approach my grills, visualizing them like a dental arch, but with more creative freedom. The most challenging aspect was encapsulating the bottle’s dimensions while maintaining an airy and aesthetically pleasing design,» explained Cohen.
When asked about the inspiration for this collaboration, Cohen responded with a smile, «Both my jewelry and the pleasure of savoring whisky originate from the same place: the mouth. So when Chivas approached me for a partnership, it simply made sense.»
While the exact location and launch date of the pop-up store remain undisclosed, the organizers promise that visitors and prospective buyers of the Chivas x Dolly Cohen collaboration will have the opportunity to explore signature cocktails and immerse themselves in Chivas’ rich heritage, steeped in history. Founded in the early 19th century, Chivas held the distinction of being the official Scotch whisky supplier to the Queen of England at the time.
Chivas has a history of collaborating with artists for exclusive bottle designs, as exemplified by their partnership with Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing, in 2021.
