We are thrilled to announce that Luca Magliano, the visionary founder of the eponymous label, has been named the guest designer for Pitti Uomo 105. This prestigious event is scheduled to take place in the picturesque city of Florence from January 9 to 12, 2024. Luca Magliano, a 36-year-old designer hailing from Bologna, is set to captivate audiences with a special runway show at an eagerly anticipated venue yet to be revealed.
Lapo Cianchi, the Head of Communication and Events at Pitti Immagine, the organizer of the event, shared the compelling reasons behind this exciting collaboration. «There are at least three compelling reasons why, in coordination with the Italian Fashion Chamber, we’ve invited Magliano to showcase his brilliance as the guest designer at the upcoming Pitti Uomo,» he explained. «First, Luca possesses an extraordinary ability to reinterpret the cultural and social essence often associated with Italian fashion in a uniquely original way. His strong emphasis on genuine teamwork stands out. The second reason is our genuine interest in periodically revisiting the careers and stylistic evolution of designers who kick-started their journey at Pitti Uomo. Magliano was the winner of Who’s On Next in 2017 and was named Pitti Italics in 2018, and he has since achieved international recognition. The third reason is our genuine fondness for him – his generosity, enthusiasm, and refined simplicity make him a true Bolognese,» Cianchi added.
Magliano’s eponymous brand was born in Bologna in 2017 and made its debut at Pitti Uomo in 2018 with a remarkable runway show titled ‘Wardrobe for a Man in Love.’ The collection placed a strong emphasis on the concept of personal elegance, firmly establishing the idea that luxury lies in the smallest gestures. Since 2018, Magliano has been a regular fixture at Milan Fashion Week.
Reflecting on this exciting opportunity, Luca Magliano expressed his delight at returning to the place where his project was first unveiled five years ago. «Pitti is where our project was revealed for the first time, five years ago, with that enormous mountain of red roses, which, looking back, fills me with a sense of nostalgia and tenderness. It’s like looking in the mirror after a long journey and rediscovering the things that truly matter, even as life unfolds in its myriad ways,» said Luca Magliano. «Returning to the embrace of the people we love and respect fills me with joy. It’s the ideal occasion to imagine the future, to be ‘more Magliano than ever,'» he added.
